Abstract modern torso sculpture Dan Italy 1960

Stunning sculpted torso sculpture made by unknown artist, signed DAN and manufactured in Italy 1960s. This nice large sized torso sculpture is made of solid walnut wood. The artist used this amazing solid wooden piece of walnut which has a fantastic honey colour and beautiful deep dark veins running through. These veins give the sculpture an extra dimension. This piece is very interesting and looks different from every angle. It is of course an abstract shaped torso, but from some angles your imagination can make it something else. The torso sculpture itself is 64 cm high and it rests on a travertine base. The combination of this deep wood works perfectly with the soft cream travertine base. They are loose from each other so the sculpture could also be used without the base. The sculpture is in very good original condition and is signed DAN on both front sides of the wood. Unfortunately, we didn’t find any reference other than this was bought in Italy and was made in the 1960s. A highly decorative piece of art which would look fantastic in a mid-century eclectic home or interior.
